Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our healthcare team. The NP will provide advanced, patient-centered care in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals. This role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing patient health, with a focus on delivering quality care, promoting health education, and improving patient outcomes. The ideal candidate is a licensed NP with a commitment to patient care excellence and a collaborative approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive assessments, obtain patient histories, and diagnose medical conditions within the NP scope of practice.
- Treatment & Management: Develop and implement treatment plans, prescribe medications, and provide follow-up care for chronic and acute health issues.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families on treatment plans, preventive care, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Collaboration & Consultation: Work in partnership with physicians, specialists, nurses, and support staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
- Care Coordination: Manage patient referrals to specialists, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and oversee continuity of care.
- Documentation: Accurately document all patient interactions, care plans, and progress notes in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Compliance & Professional Development: Adhere to state and federal healthcare regulations and maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical advancements relevant to the specialty.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the State of Iowa and national board certification in e.g., Family, Adult-Gerontology, Pediatrics.
- Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited NP program.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred, with experience in e.g., primary care, cardiology, mental health.
- Skills:
- Excellent clinical and diagnostic skills
- Strong communication and patient-interaction skills
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and assist patients as necessary for extended periods.
- Emotional resilience and ability to manage a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work occasional evening or weekend shifts based on patient needs.
